Despite Covid-19 Restrictions, Eid al-Adha Mubarak Africa!

As Africa celebrates Eid-al-Adha, the festivities in many countries have been curtailed due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases on the continent. Also at this time, attention has been drawn to issues around the recognition of religious rights with groups in Liberia calling on the government to recognise and allow for Islamic holidays. Perhaps the biggest impact for Muslims has been the restrictions  placed by Saudi Arabia on the number of pilgrims who may enter Mecca for Hajj, in an effort to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
