The Wait Is Over As Africa Cup of Nations Kicks Off in Cameroon

After months of problems and uncertainty, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicked off on Sunday, January 9, 2022, when host nation Cameroon played Burkina Faso. The world's leading broadcasters are following the month-long tournament. Cameroon's Indomitable Lions, who have been preparing since the end of December, are hoping to win their sixth AFCON title at home.

The tournament was delayed by a year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
