For The Love of Music - Africa Wins Double At Grammys!

Africa has shown up and out at the 64th annual Grammy music awards, as South Africa's Black Coffee and Benin's Angelique Kidjo, won in their respective categories.

Kidjo won the Best Global Music Album award with her 2021 album Mother Nature. The 61-year old singer was nominated alongside Nigeria's Femi Kuti and son, Made, Wizkid, Ghana's Rocky Dawuni, and Hawaii's Daniel Ho. This is Kidjo's fifth Grammy win, after winning the category in 2014, 2015, and 2019 and 2020.

Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known as DJ Black Coffee, 46, won his first-ever Grammy Award in the category Best Dance/Electronic Album - for his album, Subconsciously. It is the first time an African artist has won a Grammy in this category.
