Probe into Johannesburg Building Fire Resumes in New Venue

The inquiry into the Marshalltown fire that claimed 77 lives is set to resume after an adjournment caused by problems with the venue. eNCA reports that City of Johannesburg fire chiefs had served the inquiry with a notice of non-compliance.

A new location has been secured. "There are just a couple of tests that need to be conducted in that particular venue," said commission member Thulani Makhubel.

At least 77 people died and many others were injured in the inferno which engulfed 80 Albert Street, one of the city centre's "dark buildings".
