Protester Shot Dead During Kenya's Finance Bill Protests

The police used teargas and water cannons to disperse hundreds of protesters who gathered near the parliament to protest against the proposed Finance Bill that included new taxes and levies.

The Red Cross has reported that 39 protesters were injured, with 8 in critical condition and 31 with minor injuries. Those in critical condition are in Kenyatta National Hospital. Thanks to a multi-agency rescue team, read the statement.

President William Ruto has agreed to make some concessions after hundreds of protesters and police clashed with Nairobi police. Lawmakers are debating the Bill in Parliament, and the final version must pass before June 30.
