12 African Teams Claim Medals with Kenya Stealing the Spotlight

Kenya led the way with a total of 11 medals, consisting of four gold, two silver, and five bronze, finishing in 17th place overall at the just concluded Paris Olympics.

Other African nations that made the medals table include Algeria, which placed joint 39th with three medals: two gold and one bronze. South Africa finished joint 44th, earning a total of six medals (one gold, three silver, and two bronze), while Ethiopia ranked 47th with four medals (one gold and three silver).

Egypt and Tunisia shared 52nd place, each with three medals, including one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Botswana and Uganda also tied for 55th place, each claiming two medals, composed of one gold and one silver.

Morocco secured 60th place with two medals, including one gold and one bronze, while Côte d'Ivoire, Cape Verde, and Zambia all finished in 84th place with one bronze medal each. Nigeria did not feature on the medals table at the Games.

The next edition of the Games is set to take place in 2028 in Los Angeles, USA.
