Ghana Goes Visa-Free for African Passport Holders
Outgoing Ghanaian president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has approved visa-free travel for all Africans.
In the past, Ghana offered visa-free access to citizens of 26 African nations, while travelers from 25 other African countries were required to obtain a visa upon arrival. Only visitors from two African countries required a visa before entering Ghana.
Ghana becomes the fifth African country to open its borders to all holders of African passports, following Rwanda, Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin. Ghana's new visa-free policy is expected to boost travel, trade, and tourism in Africa.
