Tinubu Makes New Defence and Immigration Appointments
President Bola Tinubu has chosen retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin as the new Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
Jibrin succeeds Ahmed Ja'afaru, the former Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS),. Ja'afaru outlined several accomplishments at his farewell, including securing presidential approval for reforms that enable independent recruitment for the board's secretariat.
Tinubu has also approved the appointment of commissioners for key federal agencies, including the National Population Commission, the Federal Character Commission, and the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission. The appointments are effective from February 3, 2025, for five years.
