Nigeria Makes Crucial Team Changes Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

The Super Eagles' upcoming matches are pivotal to their qualification for the 2026 World Cup, as the team struggles in Group C. Head Coach Eric Chelle has urged his players to intensify their efforts at perfecting the "pressing game".

Chelle said he has implemented several changes to the squad, and that "while our usual pressing game has encountered some difficulties, the new players are still in the process of adapting to our style of play".

The team recently won the Unity Cup and managed 1-1 draw on Friday against Russia in an international friendly. Several of its star players were not present for the Russia match, which provided an opportunity for some of the substitutes, including striker Tolu Arokodare who scored the equalizer.
