Why Boakai Skipped Liberia's Chief Justice Retirement Ceremony

President Joseph Boakai was absent from the retirement ceremony of outgoing Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyene G. Yuoh, who stepped down from her role after attaining the age of 70 as required by the Liberian constitution. The justice minister, who should have delivered a special tribute at the program, was also absent.

Some analysts have said their absences might have been payback for the justices missing the President's State of the Nation's address to the legislature during the Speakership row.
