Political Tension Grips Somalia as Parliament Term Ends

Somalia has entered a period of political uncertainty following the expiration of the federal parliament's four-year mandate. Although President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud still has approximately one month remaining in his term, opposition figures have warned the administration against taking any executive actions beyond the government's constitutional timelines.

Backed by support from the Puntland and Jubbaland states, opposition leaders have called for intensified international pressure to ensure a transparent and inclusive electoral process. The political deadlock has fueled rising tensions and sparked widespread concerns over potential national instability.
