Dozens KIlled After Wave of Drone Strikes Across Sudan

More than 30 people have been killed in drone attacks across Sudan this week, with North Kordofan state recording the highest death toll, according to local NGOs. The Emergency Lawyers group said the drone attacks attributed to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 23 civilians and injured 19 others during a series of strikes on El Obeid.

The group reported that the strikes targeted residential areas, including a gathering of mourners at a cemetery during a funeral, which killed four civilians and injured seven others. Further drone strikes hit neighborhoods near the Sudanese Armed Forces' (SAF) Fifth Infantry Division headquarters, killing an additional 13 civilians.

The Sudanese Doctors Network strongly condemned the escalations, saying the deliberate targeting of civilians, service facilities, and food transport vehicles constitutes a severe violation of international humanitarian law.
