The African First Ladies Health Summit 2009 is focused specifically on the First Ladies of Africa and their role in addressing HIV/AIDS, maternal, reproductive and child health, and girls’ education. The primary objectives of this Summit are to provide the First Ladies an opportunity to present their own work in these areas; to facilitate the development of productive, collaborative partnerships; and ultimately to help the First Ladies become the most effective champions and influencers of improvements to health and education in their respective countries.
