Uhuru Kenyatta has acknowledged that he indeed signed an agreement to step down for Musalia Mudavadi, but claimed he had done so following coercion from what he described as 'evil forces.'

Kenyatta claimed the said forces had urged him to push URP leader William Ruto to step down as the running mate so that Mudavadi could be the presidential candidate while he took over the running mate slot. And as Jacky Maribe reports, Kenyatta said he had rejected the advice to have Ruto step down and instead opted to step down himself only for his decision to be rejected by his party members who should now be given a chance to decide on the matter.
