Bus Strike to Continue Over Back Pay Issue

The bus strike' which has left thousands of commuters across the country having to find alternate transport for the past four weeks' will continue. Unions representing bus drivers and the employer organisations have agreed on the 9-percent salary increase for this year and 8-percent for next year. However, the unions have refused to sign because employers are refusing to backdate the salary increase to the first of April. The employers' position is that the increase will only be effective from the day of signing.
