Sights and Sounds of Malawi - A Fund-Raising Event to Benefit Educational and Development Projects in Malawi

Washington, DC — The Malawi Washington Association in conjunction with the Malawian Community in Washington are hosting a cultural and fundraising event at the International Monetary Fund, 700 19th Street NW Washington DC  on Friday, May 19, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. The IMF Community Relations Office and the IMF Sub Saharan African Group sponsor the event. The event will feature a fashion show, live music, art, poetry and prose performances, silent auction, raffle.

Proceeds will support micro-finance, education, and dairy development projects in Malawi. Display tables will provide more information, video and pictures of the projects and work being done. Malawian community and culture will be featured in an extensive pictorial display.

The entrance fee of $30 per person includes a light meal of African and Caribbean food. Pre-registration required and guests must have a picture ID.
