EDUCATION OF OUR YOUTH IS OF PRIMARY IMPORTANCE. EDUCATION BRINGS HOPE AND PROSPERITY. WE NEED DEVOTED AND COMPETENT TEACHERS. THE RECENT DESTRUCTION OF NON DELIVERED SCHOOL BOOKS AS DEPICTED IN THE MEDIA IS A DISGRACE. IF ALL OFFICIALS IN ALL CATEGORIES WERE HONEST, CIVIL AND COMPETENT THESE ALLEGED PROBLEMS WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. SOUTH AFRICA CAN AND SHOULD LEAD THE WORLD BY ADOPTING THE PRINCIPLE OF MERIT TO ENSURE EXCELLENT SERVICE DELIVERY. MERIT CONSISTS OF THREE QUALITIES AND THEY ARE: HONESTY CIVILITY JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCE.
