Liberia: No Hike in State-Run University Fee

Administrators of the state-run University of Liberia have confirmed that there will be no increase in tuition as speculated by the students.

    The statement is endorsed, but my concern remains with the private sector ability to coup with this relatively low fees at public university. Within the tertiary sector, the private sector contributes hugely in addressing the economic constrain of low human capital but they are significantly challenged by access to finance for expansionary purposes. Government ability to maintain fees low as $2.5 as compare to $35, 25,15, 5, will constrained them further in term of cost and pull of students... Watch your policy GOL.
