These intitiatives work to close the gender gap in African countires such as Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa, by providing women with the neccesary tools to survive and thrive in today's technology driven world. Noteworthy examples are the Jjiguene Tech Hub  for women in Senegal and the conferences and ceremonies organized by UN Women, Samsung and ITU to honour women oriented digital projects.
