South Africa: Motion of No Confidence Against President Fails

A motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma proposed by opposition parties has been defeated by the ruling African National Congress.

Democratic Alliance MP Mmusi Maimane had challenged the ANC benches to break ranks and said the vote came down to a simple choice of whether they believed the president had stolen taxpayers' money to improve his home in Nkandla (file photo).
