Nigeria's Naira Currency Up, Regional Exports Down

Since the naira began to appreciate following a sudden slide in the U.S. dollar price and other foreign currencies, exports to neighbouring countries such as Niger Republic, Burkina Faso and Chad have become unattractive for traders who had previously taken advantage of the currency's depreciation.
