Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente has handed over Mulindi Tea Factory - Rwanda's largest tea factory - to 5,000 smallholder farmers in Gicumbi District, a move expected to help farmers gain more profits from tea sales.
According to the National Agricultural Export Development Board, it is the first factory to be fully owned by smallholder farmers.

Uganda and Burundi have held their first-ever business forum in an effort to bolster relations between the two countries to encourage trade, which up until now, has been done on an informal basis, said Uganda's lands minister Judith Nabakooba, who represented the Ugandan minister for trade.

French international humanitarian medical non-governmental organisation, Doctors without Borders (MSF) announced on March 21, 2022 that it would stop its humanitarian aid operations in two villages in the north eastern Ituri province in DR Congo, due to an increase in violent attacks, two of which recently targeted its workers.

The death toll from a freight train that derailed over the weekend in Lualaba in the southeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo, has risen from 60 to 75 after more bodies were discovered, RFI quotes official as saying.
The train was a freight service which had reportedly been carrying "several hundred stowaways," even though this was prohibited.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has said that Chadian authorities have handed over a former Central African Republic militia leader to the court for trial.
