Ailing national carrier South African Airways has been in financial trouble for a number of years, with government bailouts mounting to U.S.$1,959,399 from 1999 to 2017 alone. Now there is talk of Ethiopia's multi-award winning airline taking an interest - a plan that may bring some relief to the South African taxpayer and the national budget.
