Woman's Execution on Mozambique Street Sparks Outcry

The Mozambican government has denounced the gruesome video footage of men in army uniforms beating and shooting a woman suspected of being an insurgent. The video, which circulated on social media, shows what appear to be government troops shouting and marching behind a woman stripped of her clothing, hitting the victim several times with sticks before shooting her. Earlier, Amnesty International said that President Filipe Nyusi's government must launch an independent and impartial investigation into torture and other violations committed by security forces in Cabo Delgado, after verifying footage of crimes committed against detainees.
