Exciting Clashes for Cosafa Women's Champs as Draw Finalised

The draw for the Cosafa Women's Championships, to be hosted by South Africa, has been finalised and offers an exciting lineup of matches, for a return to women's international football in Africa. The under-17 women's championship will be played concurrently from November 3-14, and will feature five sides in a single pool, which will be played on a round-robin basis. While Cosafa cancelled the senior men's tournament for 2020, the women's tournaments are going full steam ahead. The COSAFA tournaments have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic but the organisation said that it is "hopeful that it will be able to host four other tournaments this year." Women's teams from Tanzania, Botswana, and  Zimbabwe, who are still awaiting permission to travel, are among the countries that will participate in the tournament that will kick off on November 3-14 in South Africa, at Port Elizabeth's Nelson Mandela Bay.
