South Africa Mourns the Loss of Veteran Reporter Karima Brown
Veteran journalist and political analyst Karima Brown, 53, has passed away. In a career that saw her occupy a number of top posts in South African media, Brown was never far from controversy. But neither did she fear it. In death, even her detractors are paying tribute to one of the most forceful voices in South African media, writes Rebecca Davis for Daily Maverick. Brown was revered by many and known for her fearlessness, wrote the South African National Editors' Forum in memory of the veteran reporter. Brown hosted 'The Fix', a debate show on the eNCA news channel, and was a well-known political commentator. She had been hospitalised for several weeks in the intensive care unit after contracting Covid-19.
