Dozens Die in Terror Attack at Niger-Mali Border

Niger's Defence Ministry has said in a televised statement, that an estimated 100 heavily armed "terrorists" on motorcycles, attacked the Tchoma Bangou village on July 11, 2021. The "prompt and vigorous reaction by the defence and security forces "made it possible to repel the attack and inflict heavy losses on the enemy. Soldiers seized motorcycles and a weapons cache, including AK-47s, from the assailants", the ministry said. Five civilians, four soldiers and 40 armed attackers were killed in the clash.
