Leaders Conclude Two-Day African Union Summit in Addis

Leaders from across the continent gathered for the 37th African Union Summit on February 17 to 18 in Addis Ababa. One focus of this year's meeting was the state of education on the continent. President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Ghazouani has been selected as the next Chairperson of the African Union (AU) for 2024, succeeding President Azali Assoumani of the Union of Comoros, who served in the rotating posts during 2023. Missing from the official agenda is the conflict in Sudan.
