Fraud Allegations Against Mother of Miss South Africa Contestant

The controversy surrounding Miss South Africa 2024 finalist Chidimma Adetshina has taken a drastic twist after the Department of Home Affairs revealed that her mother was allegedly involved in identity theft.

Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber said that there are "prima facie indications" that Adetshina's mother may have committed fraud by stealing the identity of a South African woman, resulting in harm to the innocent victim, who was unable to register her child. Schreiber clarified that Adetshina was an infant during the alleged illegal actions.

The official crowning of Miss SA is scheduled for August 10.
