'No Work, No Pay' - Govt Warns Nigeria Academic Union Over Strike

The Nigerian government has warned the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) about its decision to enforce the government's 'No Work, No Pay" policy if the union members embark on a strike action on October 13.

In a statement, the government has said it is open to "constructive engagement", saying it demonstrated "sincerity, patience, and goodwill" in its dialogue with the Union: "Virtually all the concerns raised by ASUU have been addressed, including the introduction of a substantial percentage of teaching allowance and significant improvements in the conditions of service of academic staff."
