Ghanaian Envoy Vows Justice for Slain Liberian in Accra

The Ghanaian Ambassador to Liberia, Godwin Baletum Amonzem, has assured the host nation that justice will prevail in the brutal murder of a Liberian national in Ghana - an incident that has strained relations between the two countries.

Speaking during Ghana's 69th Independence Day celebrations in Monrovia, Amonzem urged Liberians to remain patient and trust the security and legal institutions of both countries to work collaboratively.

The victim, Austin Tengbeh, died following a mob attack at an apartment complex in Accra on February 27, 2026. The killing sparked significant online outrage, with some commenters calling for reprisal attacks against Ghanaians living in Liberia.
