Rwandan Opposition Leader Victoire Ingabire Goes on Trial Again
Opposition politician Victoire Ingabire goes on trial for the second time - this time on allegations of inciting public unrest and joining a criminal organization. The longtime politician is being prosecuted alongside nine others, most of whom are members of her political party, Development and Liberty for All (DALFA-Umurinzi).
In September 2018, she was released by presidential pardon from President Paul Kagame after serving 8 years of a 15-year sentence.

Prominent opposition politician Victoire Ingabire has said she was summoned by a High Court judge in connection with a trial involving nine people accused of treason. Ingabire announced this on X (formerly Twitter), saying she is waiting for additional details.
Her summons followed queries raised by the judge about why Ingabire had not been included among the accused, despite her name "surfacing repeatedly" during the testimonies of the accused.
