High-Ranking U.S. Senators to the Nigeria President Welcoming His Attention to Niger-Delt Crisis

 Senators Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA), the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Subcommittee on African Affairs, respectively, sent to Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua welcoming the attention his government has given over recent months to the Niger Delta. In this letter, the senators called on the Nigerian president to fully implement the Delta initiatives transparently while also taking steps to strengthen governance and the rule of the law.
