U.S.'s Johnnie Carson Tells Rwanda to Denounce DR Congo M23 Rebels

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs,  Johnnie Carson, has put pressure on Rwanda to publicly denounce the M23 rebels behind much of the violence in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Speaking during a teleconference following the UN General Assembly last week, Carson said that it is critical that the countries in the region respect the sovereignty of their neighbours, and that they not engage in supporting rebel activities across borders.
