Terrorists attack AP Post, Steal Four BVR Kits From IEBC Offices

A major security operation has been launched in Mandera following today's morning attack on an Administration Police camp which was destroyed and vital equipment stolen. Mandera Deputy Commissioner David Mbevi confirmed the 1 am incident in which four Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission were stolen and a Safaricom mast burnt. They also stole 3 rifles and a police land cruiser. The incident, the latest in a series of attacks, happened at least 100 kilometers away from Mandera town. No casualty has been reported in the early attack. A contingent of police officers has been deployed in the area to bring operations back to normal. Police are yet to release an official statement on the attack.
