The ANC's 54th National Elective Conference has resolved to downgrade the South African embassy in Israel to a liaison office, in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The South African Jewish Board of Deputies and the South African Zionist Federation have condemned the downgrade, saying it would prevent South Africa from playing any mediatory role in bringing about peace or dialogue between Israel and Palestine, and will not help the people of Palestine. Joining us in studio to discuss the issue further, is Kwara Kekana from the human rights and Palestine solidarity organisation, BDS.
