South African Court Rejects Disputed Policing Law

South Africa's top court has overturned a section of a law which disbanded an anti-corruption unit, known as the Scorpions, which investigated allegations against President Jacob Zuma before he took office. A 5-4 majority of judges on the Constitutional Court said the police unit which replaced the Scorpions was "insufficiently insulated from political influence."
