At least 10 are dead in Madagascar, but the true extent of Cyclone Giovanna's impact is unknown as communications with the most affected areas has been cut.

Weather agencies predict that Cyclone Giovanna will rapidly reduce in intensity over Madagascar, strengthen as it travels west and begin dissipating after it makes landfall in Mozambique.
