Opposition parties have lambasted Eskom over its decision to do maintenance at nine of its power stations just ahead of the winter months. The power utility's management came under fire when they appeared before Parliament's public enterprises portfolio committee. They earlier warned that rolling blackouts were a possibility this coming winter saying that only 80 percent of total electricity supply will be available.
