Political Leadership Needed to End Malaria

Eliminating malaria will require a high level of political leadership, says Dr. Fatoumata Nafo-Traoré, executive director of the Roll Back Malaria Partnership. It is not only a health issue, but an economic and security issue which is costing Africa at least U.S. $12 billion a year. She was interviewed by AllAfrica's Tami Hultman for World Malaria Day.

Malaria nets to protect people from being bitten by mosquitoes while they are sleeping are critical in the fight against the disease.
