South African Court Rules Against University Protesters

Five University of Cape Town students have been barred from the campus and ordered to pay legal costs for the institution following a court ruling. The interdict comes after the Shackville protests in February where demonstrations by students demanding more accomodation turned violent.

Protesters assembled on UCT’s Jameson Plaza calling on UCT to “bring back our cadres”.
