South African Govt's 'Half Baked' State Capture Probe Slammed

The State of Capture Report was first released by former public protector Thuli Madonsela in which she mentioned the influence of the Gupta family, personal friends of President Jacob Zuma, on key government appointments and the acquiring of key tenders. The report was opposed by the president and the ruling African National Congress, saying it was an attack on the party. Since then #GuptaEmails have emerged which reveals more damning evidence of the extent of the Gupta influence. Opposition parties and civil society have demanded an investigation into the extent to which the state has been captured.
