Political Differences In South Africa 'Fanned Flames of Violence'

The Moerane Commission is investigating the underlying causes in political killings in KwaZulu-Natal, particularly between members of the two dominant parties in the province, the African National Congress and the Inkatha Freedom Party. Key political figures in the province, including former premier Senzo Mchunu, described the role that the apartheid government played in polarising political groups prior to the democratic elections in 1994.
