As the #EndSARS movement continues to gain steam, a number of celebrities are adding their voices to the call for an end to the violence in Nigeria. Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Cardi B, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Gabrielle Union are among the stars who have spoken up in support of the #EndSARS movement. Nigerian artists have been leading the charge online, in support of the movement, with celebrities like Davido and Femi Kuti joining the protesters on the streets. Artists across Africa have also come out in support of the protests, including South Africa's AKA, Kenya's Sauti Sol and Tanzania's Ali Kiba, who condemned police brutality. The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a Nigerian security force was formed in 1992 to combat robbery and crimes committed with firearms. The controversial unit has developed a reputation for widespread abuse, including torture and murder.
