Kenya Elections 2022 - Governor, Senator, MP Results Trickle In

While Kenyans anxiously wait to hear who will hold the highest office in the land - the presidency- other results have been trickling in for governor, senator and member of parliament positions. Thus far the results show that Johnson Sakaja, Susan Kihika and Anyang' Nyong'o are some of the governors that have made the cut.

The members of parliament are Oscar Sudi, Babu Owino and Didmus Barasa, while new senators are Okiya Omtatah, Tabitha Karanja and Eddy Gicheru Oketch.

Wafula Chebukati, chairperson of the independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) has warned presidential candidates to refrain from declaring themselves the winner, as he is the only person mandated by law to declare who won the August 9, 2022 elections.

Chebukati's warning follows threats by some party officials that they will release results of their own tally if IEBC does not announce the winner, Capital FM reports.
