Massive Failures in 2023 Kenya Secondary Exams To Be Probed

The Ministry of Education has launched an investigation on massive failures in the 2023 KCSE examinations.

In results released on January 8 by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, 48,174 candidates scored the lowest mean grade of E despite the flexible system of computing the final overall results.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, while releasing KCSE results on January 8, directed the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) to embark on placement of students in TVET institutions ahead of the March 2024 admissions.

Meanwhile, Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) acting Director General Dr Alice Kande has challenged learners to pursue tertiary education irrespective of the grade they scored the just released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.
