How School-Aged Children Cope in War-Torn Sudan

Statistics from Unicef have shown that 19 million children have not attended school since the outbreak of the war in 2022. The escalating violence has led thousands of schools located in conflict areas to close. The World Food Program has also warned that unless the violence stops, the "catastrophe" risks becoming the world's largest hunger crisis. ''The people of Sudan have been forgotten. Millions of lives and the peace and stability of an entire region are at stake,''  WFP's Executive Director Cindy McCain said in a statement.
