Somalia Tops African Deportation List as U.S. Revives Crackdown

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has stepped up efforts to deport illegal immigrants, a move part of a broader effort to enforce immigration laws more strictly in the U.S. as President Donald Trump's administration comes into power.

Somalia has the most citizens on the deportation list from African countries with 4,090, followed by Nigeria with 3,690, and 3,228 Ghanaians. Several African nations are also affected, including 19 Namibians, 12 Batswana, 379 South Africans, 6 from Eswatini, 1,563 Liberians, 14 Mozambicans, 662 Angolans, 174 Zambians, 58 Malawians, 545 Zimbabweans, and 1,282 Kenyans.

Following his inauguration, Trump signed a series of executive orders, including stopping the birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants.
