CBK Governor Names Banks Responsible for Shilling's Decline

Central Bank Governor Professor Njuguna has confided in camera the names of three banks that are alleged to have been involved in malpractices that led to the drastic slide of the Kenya shilling late last year. Pushed to the wall by members of the parliamentary select committee investigating the rapid decline of the Kenya shilling, Ndung'u had no option but to name the banks away from the glare of television cameras and a battery of journalists. In a tense session before the Adan Keynan-led committee, Ndung'u strongly defended the CBK's role in mitigating the currency crisis.
