Kenya's Defence Forces in Somalia have today recorded yet another major achievement by capturing Somalia's Afmadow town. Military spokesperson major Emmanuel Chirchir, through the social media forum twitter, announced AMISOM and KDF troops have secured the Somali town after an intense gun battle that left 14 al-Shabaab insurgents killed and 10 others injured. This as Internal Security Minister Prof. George Saitoti said the country will not be cowed by the recent spate of attacks in the country including Monday's Moi Avenue blast, which he now says was the work of Al-Shabaab insurgents. The minister was speaking after addressing a u.s. delegation in the country at a forum that saw the defence ministry announce plans to capture Kismayu before august this year.
